2020 - Part 3

 

Again, came a big evil laugh.

“It is my exact plan that is being implemented. Humans are fortuned to face this,” it heard like so experienced talk.

“Why?” I was a bit harsh in my voice.

“And to tell you, these tragedies are going to continue till the extinction of human life.” At this, I stopped at a confusion, whether to believe or not.

“I know you are in a confusion to believe it or not,” said, as if he read my mind, “I am leaving it to you, or else I will do one thing, I will show in real. This humankind always believes with proofs, and I am ready with plenty of them. In a week or more your country may face cyclones in the southeastern states.”

That tone made me believe. Without delay, I came straight to one question.

“I believe you. Why are you doing this to us?”

“More than 2000 members of us acted as your identity. We are the reason for your survival. We control the resources on this huge planet, we made them available for you. We gave you food, shelter, water, and everything that made you—the humankind, to be comfortable on this planet,” I sensed a rage in his voice, “but, you were not satisfied with what we gave, you crawled and expanded to make everything yours. Now they are going out of hands for future generations to come.”

I can understand, but it was not clear to me. So, I didn’t interrupt in between, waited for him to continue.

“My brother 2019 was quiet, showed patience to whatever you have done. You humans never showed gratitude to mother nature. And my father 2000 was a happier man, he always felt proud to provide you the healthiest things. But he may be never thought that we would get an excellent gift in return—the degradation of the planet.”

“How are humans exactly responsible for that? It is the situations around us, the increase in the population, decrease in land availability, made us all go a bit against the environment,” I tried being calm.

“A bit,” that was a very serious tone, “it’s not a bit, it's huge. Very huge, that there will be left no resources and fresh air for the generations to come. Your kind swept everything away. The forest, fresh air, drinking water lakes, agricultural land, everything that came your way. Just for your comforts, you cut the wood, for your travel you pollute the air. For your shelter, you grab the agricultural land. On the whole, you are creating an unbalance in nature and I am not going to forgive you all for this.”

“We too are living on this planet for many more years, we too have a right on this planet. And we are responsible for its good, we are trying to do it as we can.”

“You people never tried to take care of this planet, you just used this planet for your shelter,” it continued, “and are you not satisfied with the damage you have done to the earth. Now you are trying to search for human living conditions on other planets too,” it was like a lecture to me, not only to me but to the whole world.

I felt, everything he was saying is correct, but I want to defend ourselves on the side of humans. So that the destruction happening may be decreased if he gets convinced.

“Many policies are being made to protect the environment, we are initiating towards forest growth and create balance in this world,” I tried to be convincing. “I think you should stop the tragedies happening, and wait for a few more years, I can surely say that this planet is going to turning back to normal.”

“This is not today’s or yesterday’s; this is years and years of damage you have done. And I know, how to get back the old glory of the planet,” like really had a plan in mind.

“How?” I wanted to know that desperately.

“I have this nature in my control. When you observe with care, firstly I create wildfires. Later, I leaked the air from the factories and polluted the air to the fullest. Floods damage human shelter. Earthquakes create terror in human lives, damaging many properties. And now the virus, which is the last stage to end half of the human life on my planet.”

“I will be taking back everything, one by one. You cut down the trees, and I will make them unavailable for you. You polluted the air for your chemical needs, and now I am saturating it so that even you cannot survive. Virus decreases your population bit by bit, totally erasing the human life,” it continued, “I will be creating these tragedies till the human life ends. Later the planet earth, evaluate into a new one.”

The death of human life shook me. When everything it was saying is proven and real. This would also be real. I felt like this responsibility of mine like I have everything in hand to save this planet.

“Why?” I went emotional, “this is our planet too, we love this and we are trying to make it better. We are making it better. Give us some more years to make that good back again.”

“We have many years of connection with your people. We love having you on this planet with us, but it is our responsibility to take care of this planet at any cost,” he said in a low voice. “But I have to say this. Humans became so selfish that they only want their needs to be fulfilled and nothing else. They cut trees to make their house, but never think that they are killing a life. They want wood, but never waters a plant. They want fresh air as well as polluting electricity producers. They need fresh and healthy food but want quick yield with chemicals. They have no clarity with their lives and damaging the planet.”

I have nothing to say, but just nod and accept. Humans remembering immunity foods and personal care and safety is realized only after the spread of the virus. I accept that nature has suffered a lot.

“That is why I wanted to end this humankind,” he made it sound like the final word.

2020 has been very angry at us. We are aware of what is happening around the world and know that we are the sole reason for it.

Everything happening is a consequence of what we have done over the years. We are bringing our human life to an end with our own hands.
