The Pain Killer for Life

Ajay Kumar Battula

We have all heard of painkillers but also heard that they are not good for the body. Though they are a great relief from pain.

On the other hand, symptoms are great clues to treat a disease, which may be hidden by the painkillers. The intensity of the pain is unknown with painkillers and the treatment gets difficult.

In life too we face pain, it may not be an injury on the knee but something mental.

You go to a friend and say, “I broke up with her.”

He says, “Chill, get a beer.”

It's just you are killing the pain. And beer is a pain killer or reliever. That shouldn’t work like that.

Let me explain.

It’s just child psychology. You restrict your kid from touching the hot object, he keeps on trying to touch it. And once he feels the heat, he won’t go back.

If you pacify the pain, the hurting is lost and there won’t be an indication when you are approaching it the next time.

Feel it. It’s your responsibility for your own good.

KARMA IS A BLOODY BITCH

Ajay Kumar Battula

Doing wrong is part of being human and dealing with your emotions and connecting people. Life is never simple as we think it is.

Life never has box pattern for your mistakes and its revenge. Life never thinks, “oh this person had something unknowingly at a different phase of his life, I shouldn’t take revenge now.”

Okay, we will just go off the track for a second.

Why suicide, why heart attack, why all the stressful diseases which an early man never tasted off.

What an early man should think off. “Oh, how should I reach the tree of tasty fruits.”

“The sun is down; I need to sleep.”

“Oh, this people are nice to me, I will be nice to them.”

I don’t exactly remember the reason why I had made that mistake. I have no traces of source or at least the evidence of intension. But it came right back at me. Searching for me, in the goddamn right situation.

The bag is heavy, its stressful and unexplainable.

GOD

Ajay Kumar Battula

One:

The cords are detached, a fire starts to escape, the timer lets its last breath, and with that, the ‘PROCLAIM I’ spaceship flies into the air. But it was not as simple as it appears to be. A lot of debt went into it; Prabhu had taken an unbelievable loan of money to drive this ship into the unknown sky. To prove the presence of bright blue light far above the Earth's surface. He had not taken a step back when he had to sell his house, leave his family, and ignore friends in creating wealth for this mission. His only aim was to prove to everyone the presence of bright blue light. To be honest, this is not just it. He gathered a few people around, convinced them to pull in some money, he persuaded them to go with him in search of bright blue light.

Two:

Shiva saw the news article of Prabhu going in search of the bright blue light. Shiva is a rich person, he has nothing to lose and has a comfortable life. He giggles at the mission of Prabhu. His long-term ideology and thoughts come into the picture soon after reading that. He soon uses all his resources, invests a lot of money and plans for an antithetical mission against the bright blue light. He too employs an advanced spaceship, makes a group of like-minded people and requests them to join him on the trip. To show everyone that the bright blue light is just a theory and not present in practice.

After a year of vigorous voyage, Prabhu comes back safe. He started to tell people what he had seen back there.

Prabhu saw a big bright blue light after travelling up above the earth. He praised and loved the bright blue light for making him win in his journey. But, to his surprise when he told most of them about this, nobody gave him much attention. He found that nobody came forward to give him a cash award or anything that could help him repay his loan.

On the other hand, Shiva spent a year more and returned with no trace of bright blue light anywhere around Earth. He was excited, proud and happy about his successful mission. He was anticipating a grand welcome back. He dreamed about trophies, awards and the highest titles that could be possibly given. But he wondered that nobody had done those. People just heard what he was saying and that’s it.

Jay had watched all this in the newspaper. He read it closely and decided to flip to the next page.

Conclusion:

The bright blue light is GOD. Spaceship represents their lives. And money is time. Some people make high efforts and spend a lot of time to show the presence of GOD. On the other hand, some of them in turn spend numerous hours making others believe that it is all false and say don’t be around GOD.

There is a third kind in this society (if not there should be), they don’t care. They see all these and move on with their lives.

That Little Window of Imperfection

Ajay Kumar Battula

 Hi, am back.

We have grown up in a well-mannered society. Or at least we assume we have. Where everybody acts ideal. Where every teacher seems to be dedicating their career to uplifting kids. Where every parent seems to be the most disciplined and responsible. You face a random middle-aged man out of the blue and he starts to teach you the importance of parents, life, achieving, and aiming.

Today’s Gen-z are intelligent, but there was a set of groups who knew nothing but above ideal society. This is for them. You are not alone, there is a generation supporting you.

When you live in a room with black-shaded glasses and are taught that the world is dark outside, you grow up to believe that it is true. But once you get out you realize it.

In an ideal society, it is hard to cope with the people around. How hard you may strive, you stay mediocre, and which is what it should be. That poor generation worked solid not knowing the reality. They could not be the teachers who toiled 24 hours, they could not be the best as their parents were to their grandparents. They couldn't score well or perform as well as their neighbors’ kids. Always had to listen to the ultimate achievements of their uncle and get depressed as they could not do those.

The above situation is not as simple as we listen to, it takes much more effort and mental pressure.

But do not worry, it will be a happy ending.

Agonized and frustrated people, who suffered, looked for a window. They tried convincing their parents, tried disobeying their teachers, or paid deaf ears to their uncles, but nothing worked. Every time they did that, society gave them a blunder tag and made them a dark stink on the bright white cloth. That is where they found this little window of imperfection. Which is proven to be a great technic to be ideal and flawed at the same time.

Every guilty thing they want to do is done without fail and kept to themselves. That way their soul was satisfied. And you know it worked. And it keeps on working.

Everything was fine, they were fine and good-going. But one thing, one truth raged up their minds. Which is, all the ideal people around them, the teachers, the parents, and the great achiever uncles, they too had their little windows of imperfection. They kept hidden and were successful.

Send off (వీడ్కోలు)

Ajay Kumar Battula

Send-offs are often treated as sad scenarios and stated as departing from someone or leaving someone. Yeah, though it’s true, send-offs are great. Let me tell you why.

Assume someone is leaving you for a job or study or it may be something else. It’s mostly an unavoidable situation. In the world of man-made tensions and living standards, the heart is just an untrained peaceful soul. How tall you build the towers, how long you dug the canals, how fast an object can travel, and how rich a person can get. Ignoring all these our brains are after all earthly things, which are naïve and connected to soil. It's not as simple for the brain as it is for the eyes—which just think it is.

Where were we? Send-offs, right? Yeah.

But somehow eyes are the strongest means of communication to the brain. The eyes put effort and making the brain accept reality. And in this case, send-offs, eyes, and brain come into action.

For a better future, reality needs to strike hard. If not, the same reality turns slow poison.

When you hate the situation of someone leaving, all you can do is know it and feel it. Let your eyes and mind register that it's true and ask them to store it for later. This helps to drive us into the path of reality.

The Weepiest send-offs are the happiest.

Naïve Omelett

Ajay Kumar Battula

Whenever we are asked about cooking, most of us stick to one dish that we all can make with perfection, or to be honest at least we can make it edible. As you can read it from the title. Yes, it’s Omelette.

Like every other bachelor in India, I too have stirred and poured the beaten eggs into heated oil thousands of times. When we don’t have anything to cook, we go for an omelette. Something quick to eat, Omelette. Some side dish for drinks, Omelette. Wanna show our skill in the only dish we know, Omelette. I also made an omelette, when I was bored. It’s quick right, beat eggs, add salt and chilli powder, pour it in a pan and flip. That’s it.

But most of the time in that thousands of omelettes, I have never made it look simple. Every time I break the eggs into the bowl, I search for something special, something different. Butter, spring onions, spicy masala or ginger, something new, something else from normal. I have made every kind of Omelette, with every item available in the kitchen. But believe me, nothing tasted like the simple one—that with just eggs, salt and chilli powder.

Just a few minutes before I typed this down, I tasted one of the most simple, quick omelettes. That reminded me of my grandmother, who used to make me an Omelette so easy and tasty with the bare minimum of ingredients. Simultaneously, I caught hold of a resemblance with life.

Let me tell you that.

Unlike every other story, let me tell you the summary first and then go into detail.

Our life is that simple omelette. It’s tasty, filling the purpose and wonderful. But we don’t like it that way.

Right from the time we were born, we always wanted something more, always trying to achieve beyond normal. Mediocrity is underrated. We put such a peaceful position aside and run for stress and pressure.

We look for branded items, like butter. We want assets in life, like the onions. In the process of thinking and being at a higher level, we forget to live ourselves. We left behind an easy, simple, perfect and happy life.

I assume the above is true. Make a quick, simple omelette and think for yourself.

Hinduism—an arduous religion

Ajay Kumar Battula

Whether an Indian talks about it or not, every person here has an opinion of religion under his skin. Here we are gonna focus on Hinduism.

I believe Hinduism isn’t a religion but a way of life. People who lived two hundred years ago in the core parts of the country didn’t even realise it as a way of living but have seen it as the only way of living.

To be clear about my point I need to provide an example.

It’s similar to drinking water when you have hiccups. See we don’t know, maybe badam milk could have brought it down hiccups more quickly, or say coconut water or to think odd, maybe groundnut oil. I guess you didn’t even think about this till I picked up the issue for you.

Sorry, it may portray me as insane, but wait a minute and think!!

Going to the temple, cleaning the house, use of turmeric and worshipping cows. These were not followed, these were inbuilt as we drink water for hiccups. And this is the sole reason for the existence of these activities. There were no excuses. You get out of the house, you see everyone around going there and it’s normal.

To be frank, it isn’t normal or easy when you think of it as work. Hinduism gives great benefits when you follow it, but expects an enormous amount of discipline and sanctity.

In the modern world, the human race sees religion as a separate entity. Like a job, or a work or pride. It’s really easy to tell that, you cannot follow a religion, it should be a part of you. If you are still following a religion or doing things relating to religion—either you are afraid or there is pure personal benefit out of it.

Saying all the above, I won't deny the fact that there are people who still made religion a way of life, the consciousness and spirituality they achieve are purely natural and genuine.

For a distraction, humans need a side track or we need some extracurricular thing to keep ourselves occupied or we always need someone in our bad times—like a shoulder to cry.

When we take religion as a shoulder, we choose an easier one—where there is less effort and more return. This is the main reason for a drastic decrease in the followers of Hinduism.

Like me, people in India cry about the fall of Hinduism in India. But, it should be remembered that it is still prevailing in the turmeric that we use, it is in the way we leave our footwear outside the house, it is in the hospitality we show to every person irrespective of anything.

Honestly, it is difficult to adapt to the core nature of a religion. But it is in our hands to reflect the summary and key elements of it.

DOING IT for the core purpose of DOING IT

Ajay Kumar Battula

With a rapid rise in experience, we tend to do things in a more obvious way. This is a well-known yet hidden thing. Let me give you an example. A lot of us do Engineering, previously it was different from now. In the initial days, it was something that mattered to a student and it added skill to his resume. But now it’s just like another certificate, without any use. This is because we lost the core purpose of doing it.

Most of the time we do a lot of things with great hard work and dedication, but still, we lack at obtaining good results. There isn’t any fault in your efforts, but it lies in the purpose of doing it.

When we link this issue to food. As per body requirements, we need to eat food for nutrients and minerals. Which can be obtained from less quantity food, but the scenario is different. We tend to eat a lot and still don’t acquire the essentials. That’s where the problem begins.

Doing work without understanding the purpose is like picking a random medicine for a particular disease. In this case, it may work or may not. The wrong thing that is happening in the society is that it is working. Just we are missing the fact that it is not working for everyone. But the crowd goes for it and ends up losing.

We need to remember a thing. If we give the right medicine, it is gonna get cured, either today or tomorrow. Similarly, when you start up a task, take time to sit down and give yourself time to fetch the essence. It may take time but believe that you are definitely on the right path.

BLOOD

Ajay Kumar Battula

Jay was walking hurried towards the mini pond, located a few meters away from his house. It is the evening—exactly the transition time from day to night—cloudy and the sky rapidly growing dark. He paced at a similar rate as the climate moved to reach night. His speed was not obstructed by the pain in his knee from the injury, nor did he care about the hanging bandage—which was covering the stitches on the jaw. His eyes were filled with a layer of salty liquid, under which there were red nerves stayed still and dark.

From the way he was walking, he could reach the other end of the pond within no time. But what was running on his mind was petty and unimaginable. Like the magic power sprinkled, the weather turned darker—giving some respect to the glowing street lights. But Jay didn’t care about the world around him, he was looking straight and steady. I swear, if someone was observing him, they would go mad. All of a sudden, he came to a halt. His stare remained the same, the layer in his eyes thickened.

Within a span of a minute, his hands were blood red, and his palms were covered with mosquito blood. Yes, he was killing mosquitoes. But his clapping did not stop, trapping tens of those mini creatures between his pale white hands he was killing them with no mercy. With his hands turning brighter, tears came rolling down. His hands took rest from vigorous swinging. Though his eyes were blurred from the tears, he gazes at his bare bright hands. He observed his body while continuing to look at his hands. He was happy. He was surprised. He jumped and celebrated an unknown victory. But in the middle of howling, he didn’t believe it happening. He became still, brought his hands closer, just a few centimeters away from his eyes, and continued to stare. This time he confirmed it, now there isn’t any boundary for his joy. He overcame something crucial and frightening.

Hiding his hands in his pockets he walked back home. There were no limitations to his joy, he had the most peaceful sleep that night since the day he got hurt in an accident.

Jay had a winner smile for many days until he had to meet the doctor regarding the injuries. When the bandages at the knee were removed the blood came flowing out. This wasn’t shocking for the doctor, nor a normal human being. But it was enough to faint Jay.

Why did he faint?

What was he doing with mosquito blood?

In Part 2 of BLOOD.

Happiness Matters

Ajay Kumar Battula

Happiness has many anchored factors. Some are external, while most of them are internal. The best medium through which happiness can be talked about is time. How happy we were previously? And how happy are we now?

Yes, people weren’t happy a few decades back, but those factors were wars, famines, and plague. Which were inevitable. But now it's self-driven unhappiness.

‘Self-driven’, sounds strange uh? Believe me, it isn’t new. We all go through it now and then.

Let’s imagine a fantasy past, where there were no wars or diseases. People mostly were happy with what they got, because they didn’t know what others got.

The sole reason for unhappiness is comparison. And Social Media gives a great hand in that.

It’s just simple. You are so happy about your great marks until you hear your rank is fifteen. You take a train and enjoy the greatest view of the rising and falling sun, bridges, and forests until you see your friend’s status with an airplane wing. You enjoy your home food like no one until you look at the closely taken pictures of French fries and burgers. You are….. And the list goes on.

Social Media is bad, not worse. Just turn off the background run option, enjoy what you are, and cherish what you have. You have got your scriptwriters out there.

The Last Ounce of Love

Ajay Kumar Battula

“Everything comes with an expiry date,” as people quote it.

Though it’s true, our belief system waits for an incident to realize. Like my love.

Love ends quite painfully, but the climax is informative and comprehending.

Let me tell you how.

“I want to stay like this for eternity,” I spoke, whilst wondering how she could have such emotive and baby cheeks. I was scared to handle those milky cheeks.

“Who is stopping us?” those god damn eyes could speak louder. The confidence and surety was assuring and full of life. I was out of words; felt like the world around took break to watch us. It isn’t even the touch; it’s the promise that kept everything hooked.

Love isn’t drug. Love is known unknowingness. Everything seems to be happening for us, we thank God for taking such a care in writing, but we don’t realize that God is still writing.

On the way, leaving her deems greater than dying. Soon dreams are built on illogical pillars. The path ahead seems clear and filled with enormous amount of joy and understanding. Flaws fade. Heart craves for more “us” time. Molding for one another appears relishing. From promising baselessly to realize its aftermath, things take a halt and vicious turn. And everything after that is Greek.

“God what’s happening?”

Situations which were caressing turn poking. Dreams shatter. The long happy way is no longer commutable. “Were we insane to plan all these?” self questioning isn’t a great help but nails you down to the table of fact. But it’s still the known unknowingness. Truth takes the responsibility of every act.

Years pass, the white blood cells of hope refuse to heal the wound of love.

Mothers are Saints

Ajay Kumar Battula

Y

ou don’t need to bow down, chant the name, or no charge for advice. From the red chutney to rocket science, she does have an answer. She is just a call away. You may be ultra-rich, dealing with the most cutting-edge technology, or you may be wobbling with your career. For everything she got a solution.

Yes, “Mothers are saints.” The least humans speak the more they prosper. The old-day mothers are less social, more connected to family, and highly spiritually bound. Very often we wonder how could people from centuries ago dealt with so many wonderful theories, that is just simple—minimal distractions.

I bet you, whatever problem you may be undergoing, turn it into kitchen language and pose it to her. There you go, the tasty, hot, and simple solution is garnished and ready to be served.
